Scholarship Impact

Scholarships have a transformative impact on TXST students by easing the financial burden of tuition, allowing them to focus on their studies and personal development. This financial support can open doors to opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach, such as participating in internships, study abroad programs, or research projects that enrich the academic experience.

November is National Scholarship Month, and we are recognizing scholarship impact in the Bobcat community! We're celebrating our common goal of helping students in their educational journeys and acknowledging our valued donors that partner with us to help make our student's dreams a reality.

Last year, Texas State University had $3.2 million available in scholarship funds that supported students in many ways. This includes:

  • $1.8 million awarded by the academic colleges,
  • $1 million awarded by the financial aid and scholarships office,
  • $306k awarded by athletic programs, and
  • $55k awarded by student success initiatives like Student Learning Assistance Services (SLAC) and the Department of Housing and Residential Life.

Culture of Philanthropy

For many students, scholarships also provide a sense of recognition and encouragement, boosting confidence and motivating them to achieve their full potential. When alumni and benefactors invest in scholarships, they help foster a culture of philanthropy and gratitude, strengthening the community and ensuring that higher education remains accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances.
